Reach Out to Nairobi
Our chapter in Nairobi needs help after the recurrent political upheaval in Kenya that has resulted in widespread destruction of property, displacement of people and loss of life. In a commitment to maintain and support our global network, OWIT's Board voted to waive fees for the Nairobi chapter in 2008, redirecting funds toward the rebuilding of the chapter and financial support of its members.
Individual OWIT chapters have also implemented relief efforts into their programs. For example, the Alberta chapter recently hosted an event featuring author Eric Thurman on the topic of microcredit and was inspired to explore innovative fundraising models.
